What Open Loop collects, why, and what you can ask me to do about it. Covers this website and the coaching sold through it.

01Who runs this site

Open Loop is a one person practice based in California. Questions about anything below go to openloopds@gmail.com and reach me directly, not a support queue.

02What I collect

Information you give me. Your name and email when you book a call or subscribe to the newsletter, plus anything you choose to send for review: resumes, job descriptions, portfolios, take home assignments, and notes about your search.

Information from booking and payment. When you schedule a session, my booking provider records the time you picked, your time zone, and any answers you give in the booking form. Payment goes through Zelle, so no card details ever reach this site. What I see is whatever my bank shows me about a transfer: usually a name, an email or phone number, an amount, and your memo.

Information collected automatically. Standard server logs kept by my website host. I do not run analytics or tracking scripts on this site, so there is no record of how you moved around it and no advertising profile of your visit.

03Why I collect it

To deliver what you paid for: scheduling and running sessions, sending notes afterward, processing payment, answering your questions, and sending the newsletter if you asked for it. I do not use your information to build advertising profiles.

04Who else sees it

A short list of service providers, each getting only what it needs to do its job: Cal.com for scheduling, Zelle and my bank for payment, Kit for the newsletter, Google for email correspondence, and my website host.

I do not sell your information. I do not share it with recruiters, employers, or anyone else evaluating you for a job, including companies I have worked for.

05Your materials stay confidential

Your resume, your performance in a mock interview, and anything you tell me about your search are private. I will not pass them to a hiring team, quote you in marketing, or publish them as an example without asking you first and getting a clear yes.

06How long I keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for seven years because tax rules require it. Materials you send for review are kept for twelve months so we can refer back to them, then deleted. Ask me to delete your materials sooner and I will.

07Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email openloopds@gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect coaching you have already booked.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, for example under the GDPR or the CCPA. Those rights apply here regardless of where I am based.

08Cookies

This site sets only what it needs to function. My booking embed and analytics may set their own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work, though the booking embed may not load.

09Children

This service is for people in or entering the workforce and is not directed at anyone under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

10Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, I will update the date above, and for material changes I will email anyone on the list.
